Vodafone Iceland expands 4G coverage

Icelandic cellco Vodafone (Fjarskipti) has announced that it has expanded the footprint of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network considerably in recent weeks. The operator revealed that a new 4G-enabled transmission tower was installed in Fludir, which is situated in southern Iceland, while residents in the eastern part of the country will benefit from access to LTE services for the first time, following the deployment of a base transceiver station (BTS) in Egilsstodum.
