
Vivo to launch 4G+ branded service on 30 April
Brazil’s number one mobile operator by subscribers Vivo will launch its new 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) service on 30 April – the deadline date stipulated by the regulator – says its director of strategy and new business, Christian Gebara. Marketed under the banner ‘4G+’, the cellco is introducing new data plans that we be made available to subscribers and new customers in the six cities hosting the FIFA football Confederations Cup, he added. In a press conference in Sao Paulo this week, Gebara went on to point out that the company is also launching a new mobile internet plan, dubbed Multivivo, which he says allows a user to have a single billing plan for his/her smartphones, modems, tablets and laptops. Up to five additional devices can access the internet via the plan which costs BRL29 (USD14.54) per month per additional device.
