Verizon Wireless Completes 4G Rollout in Florida
Verizon Wireless says that it has now substantially completed the roll-out of its LTE network across Florida. Verizon launched LTE in Florida’s major markets in December of 2010, with an objective of matching its 3G network footprint statewide by the end of 2013. The target has been achieved six months ahead of schedule.
“Tech-savvy Floridians recognized and demanded the advanced capabilities of 4G LTE, so we devoted great effort and resources to deliver these services across the state as soon as possible,” said Frank Wise, Florida network executive director for the Verizon Wireless. “The effort has paid off with reliable service to our customers and a dramatic advantage over our competitors.”
In 2012, Verizon spent more than $240 million on network enhancements across the state.
