China Unicom picks Huawei portable drive test product

Huawei announced that its portable drive test product GENEX PHU (Generate Excellence Probe Handset Unit) has been selected by China Unicom for accurately completing drive tests.

Huawei’s GENEX PHU drive test is made possible with a commercial smartphone loaded with a drive test application for voice and multimedia testing. The application carries out data analysis using algorithms that offset external interferences to measure true network performance and user experience for voice and data services.

Huawei’s GENEX PHU solution is now being used commercially in over 100 countries by more than 200 operators to realize efficient network optimization.
