Ucell’s Net Sales Exceeds US$225m in 1H 2013
Net sales of mobile communication operator Ucell, a subsidiary of TeliaSonera in Uzbekistan, grew by 58.5% year-on-year to 1.484 billion Sweden kronor (over US$225 million) in the first half of 2013.
At the same time net sales of Ucell made up 783 million Sweden kronor (about US$118.71 million) in the second quarter of 2013, which rose by 65.2% year-on-year.
EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) grew from 155 million Sweden kronor (US$23.488 million) in the second quarter of 2012 to 438 million Sweden kronor (US$66.37 million) in the same period of 2013. EBITDA margin reached 55.9% in April-June 2013 (32.7% in 2Q 2012).
In January-June 2013, the EBITDA made up 821 million Sweden kronor (US$124.433 million) compared to 310 million Sweden kronor (US$46.977 million) in the same period of 2012. EBITDA margin made up 55.3% in the first half of 2013 (31.1% in 1H 2012).
TeliaSonera said that the subscribers’ base of Ucell made up 8.178 million people at the end of the second quarter of 2013 against 7.767 million people in April-June 2012. The growth rate made up 5.29%.
According to the company, MOU (average monthly minutes of usage per subscriber) made up 310 minutes per month in the second quarter of 2013 against 252 minutes per month in the same period of 2012.
