Ucell, Beeline Uzbekistan Fined For Price Fixing

Uzbekistan mobile operators Ucell and Beeline Uzbekistan have been fined after colluding on an increase in prices, unveiled in an investigation by the competition regulator. Beeline Uzbekistan announced an increase in the daily subscription rate from USD 0.02 to USD 0.03 under its main tariffs on 20 January. Ucell announced a similar increase on 25 January. Prices were raised almost at the same time in 2012 as well. Fines have been imposed on both operators.
