UAE Mobile Subscribers Rise 3.72% in Third Quarter

Number of mobile subscriber in UAE reached 16.98 million; this increase in subscribers is due to prepaid customers. Subscribers grew 3.72 % in third quarter of 2015 while during the same period in 2014 there were 16.37 million subscribers.

Etisalat’s subscribers reached 9.7 million in the third quarter of 2015 and they grew 9.35 % while during the same period in 2014 there were 8.87 million subscribers. So the average mobile revenue in 2015 stood at Dh117 while there was Dh119 in 2014 during the same period.

Similarly

Du’s subscribers decreased 3.06 % to 7.28 million compared to 7.51 million during the same period in 2014.The average revenue for Du’s users stood at Dh96.4 while there was Dh96.1 in 2014 during the same period.

Both the telecom operators lost many subscribers due to “My Number My Identity” (MNMI) campaign.
