Normally the purpose of website redesigning is promoting or removing some features or opens up more space for advertising but Twitter has done the recent changes just to improve its brand image.
The new Twitter design is definitely different — less formal and more “in your face,” observed long-time Twitter user Charles King, principal analyst at Pund-IT.
“Like any advertising-based business, it is all about eyeballs. The company is hoping to grow its regular user base so as to increase ad rates and revenues. If it delivers the improved user engagement Twitter is looking for, the complaints will be easy to ignore,” he further added.
The changes that have been introduced in the new design are not introduced abruptly rather Twitter first did serious testing of the new features before rolling out the major features. The results of the rollout have been positive so far and Twitter has received a decent feedback from its users. Besides, Twitter did not add or take away any feature with its redesigning the desktop version therefore, they didn’t face much negativity. The little bit of negative response it did face is merely the result of breaking from familiarity. Twitter is not the one famous for design updates, it had gone a long time without change.
