Thai manufacturers support 3G licensing
Thai manufacturers are supporting the NBTC’s plan to auction 2.1 GHz spectrum for 3G services. The chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Payungsak Chartsuthipol, said that an advanced telecom infrastructure would enhance the country’s competitiveness and could be used to bridge the digital divide. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is planning to auction the 3G spectrum on 16 October. The Telecommunications Association of Thailand and the Thai Chamber of Commerce also supported the plan.
