Telenor Distances Itself from Luel’s Statements

Telenor Pakistan has distanced itself from earlier statements that the company would reconsider investing in 3G in Pakistan due to the government’s tightening regulations and increased taxes. Tore Johnsen, the former CEO of Telenor Pakistan and currently the senior VP of Telenor Group, met with ICT minister Anusha Rahman. Johnsen disavowed the statements made earlier by Lars Christian Luel, the local company’s chief executive. Furthermore, Johnsen appreciated the steps the government had taken to create a business-friendly environment in Pakistan.
