Telecom Egypt to Launch Fourth Mobile Network ‘We’

Telecom Egypt officially launched ‘We’, the country’s long-awaited fourth mobile network. Additionally, this fourth network will provide 2G, 3G and 4G technologies. The new mobile network SIM cards will be obtainable from Monday. According to the company, the prepaid card of this new mobile network will accessible by 15 October. Telecom Egypt to Launch Fourth Mobile Network ‘We’

There are three other mobile service providers in Egypt Orange, Vodafone and Etisalat. By using its own network and roaming agreements with Etisalat and Orange, TE will offer 2G, 3G and 4G services to start. Telecom Egypt has a control on landlines in the country. Furthermore, it was awarded its first mobile license last year. Moreover, all four mobile operators are expected to activate 4G services this month. The 4G is establish for all four by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority within weeks.

The mobile internet service provided by ‘We’ will cost EGP 10 for 1GB, EGP 20 for 2.5GB. It will cost EGP 40 for 6GB, EGP 100 for 18GB and EGP 200 for 40GB. The company has 6 million fixed-line users. Additionally, it will cost EGP 0.12 per minute, MB or SMS. Users can also purchase prepaid bundles of EGP 20 for 1,600 units or EGP 40 for 4,000 units. A unit is worth one minute, SMS or MB.
