Tango becomes first LTE Operator in Duchy
Tango Luxembourg, the Grand Duchy’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers, has confirmed that it started offering commercial services over its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network.
At launch, the 4G network is said to cover around 60% of the population, principally in the south and centre of the country, plus all of the main cities in the north. Tango expects to expand the network to 90% of the population by the end of 2012.
Luis Camara, Marketing Director at Tango commented “We are delighted to be the first operator in Luxembourg to offer our customers 4G subscriptions and, at the same time, to allow Luxembourg to take up a position as one of the leaders in the rolling out of 4G services in Europe.”
