The basic aim of this new release is to allow Twitter developers to do experimental testing while getting feedback from the users. On the basis of positive feedback, develop and incorporate that feature in the main application. Only a detailed set of testers will be acceptable to test this prototype app. This new prototype was first introduced in a CES conference in January.

Basically, the new rounds will include a new design for conversations. The new app will have different format for replies when conversations have more rounded char-like shapes and indentation. Sharing options other tweet options will be hide from the user’s review to maintain a simple UI.

The other purpose of this app is to offer a better visual cue to those users who are following longer threads. The big change would be that different kind of replies will be color code to differentiate those from the original poster. It will help to differentiate those users you personally follow.

According to Twitter, only a couple of thousands of English and Japanese speaking users will be invitedd to test the prototype app via an email invite. The email invite iss expected to come in the next few days. When received the users can follow the link to confirm their participation, once confirmed the person will wait for another email invite from the device’s app beta testing program. The person can then download the app and use it instead of the native Twitter app.
