Armenian fixed and mobile operator ArmenTel, which trades under the Beeline banner of its Russian parent Vimpelcom, has launched the latest phase of its fixed line digitisation programme, upgrading its network in the area of Norashen, which is located in the Tavush region in the north of Armenia. Once the upgrade in completed (26 September), residents of Norashen will have access to high quality fixed voice telephony services and broadband internet over ADSL2+ technology.
Having completed the digitisation of its fixed telephone networks in the capital in Yerevan in 2013, ArmenTel is now working to sequentially upgrade its regional networks and has reached 86% of the PSTN upgraded outside the capital to date.
