O2 Czech Republic tests 4.5G, reaches over 500 Mbps

O2 Czech Republic tested 4.5G in real conditions in a Prague administrative district during peak times. The combination of carrier aggregation of several bands (LTE 800 FDD, LTE 1800 FDD, LTE 2600 FDD and LTE 2600 TDD), the technology 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM modulation allow theoretical speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. Under real conditions, with a borrowed device from Huawei, the operator reached speeds between 500 and 550 Mbps. No terminal devices are available with 4.5G support yet; they are expected to reach the market at the end of 2017. Telecompaper reports
