O! Expands LTE Network in Chuy

Kyrgyzstan mobile operator Nur Telecom, working under the O! brand,  expanded the coverage of its LTE network with several new base stations in the Chuy region. LTE services are now accessible in the villages of Novopokrovka, Voyenno-Antonovka, Novopavlovka, Nizhnyaya-Ala-Archa, Mayevka, Lebedinovka and Alamedin. The operator provides its LTE services over the 2,600 MHz band.

Pre-Paid Registration

Kyrgyzstan Extends Pre-Paid Registration Deadline to 8 August

Kyrgyzstan’s State Communications Agency (SCA) has extended the pre-paid SIM registration deadline to 8 August 2015, following the failure of the country’s operators to meet the original 8 March target. SCA data reveals that by early March, the largest mobile operator by market share, Megacom, had registered just 52.0% (1.617 million) of the active SIMs on its network, while Sky Mobile, which operates under the Beeline brand, had registered 59.8% of its user base, equating to 2.542 million SIMs. Meanwhile, third-placed mobile operator by subscribers, Nur Telecom (branded as ‘O!’) has signed up 72.2% of its customer base, equivalent to 1.192 million users.

SIM registration was introduced under government decree No. 97 ‘On approval of rules for the provision of mobile telecommunication services’, and entered into force on 8 March 2014. As per the original terms of the decree, all existing SIM card holders were expected to register their details within a year, or face disconnection.


O! Expands Network Coverage in Naryn

Kyrgyzstan mobile operator Nur Telecom, working under the O! brand, has expanded the coverage of its network in the Naryn region, deploying 13 new base stations. The list of agglomerations includes Ak-Kya, Kyzyl-Zhyldyz, Kyzyl-Dobo, Cholpon, Zhylan-Aryk, as well as the city of Naryn.


Smart Mobile Internet Line

O! Launches Smart Mobile Internet Line

Kyrgyzstan mobile operator Nur Telecom, working under the O! brand, has introduced a new Smart mobile internet line package. The line includes the ‘Smart 300’ package with 300 MB, the ‘Smart 1000’ package with 1 GB, as well as the Smart Unlim package with unlimited mobile internet services. The line also provides unlimited on-net calls and SMSs. Outside the bundle, each MB costs KGS 0.25. The maximum monthly rate for the service totals KGS 990.


O! Expands 3G Network in Chuy

Kyrgyzstan mobile operator Nur Telecom, working under the O! brand, has expanded the coverage of its 3G network in the Chuy region. Nineteen new 3G base stations have been deployed there, and services have been launched in rural agglomerations of Voenno-Antonovka, Alamudun, Lebedinovka, Nizhny-Ornok, Mayevka, Nizhnyaya-Ala-Archa, Novo-Pavlovka, Leninskoye, Dostuk and Novopokrovka. The capacity of the network has been raised in the city of Bishkek and in the town of Tokmok. The operator plans to continue expanding its 3G network in every region across the country. 


O! 3G Expansion in Talas!

Kyrgyz mobile service provider Nur Telecom, which operates under the ‘O!’ banner, has deployed five new 3G base stations in the Talas province; four in the city of Talas and one in the village of Kirovka. Maksim Sidorenko, commercial director at ‘O!’, comments:

“In the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic [there] is still an urgent need to quickly access quality internet…We are delighted now the residents of the Talas region have access to 3G communication technology.”

Nur Telecom launched 3G services in April 2014 with coverage initially in Bishkek and the surrounding Chuy province, while in November the operator installed 3G base stations in the province of Naryn.
