Norton intros Wi-Fi router for connected homes

Anti-virus software maker Norton is moving into the hardware business to help promote subscriptions to its services, reports Telecompaper. At CES, the Symantec subsidiary launched Norton Core, a Wi-Fi router built to secure connected homes. To provide strong wireless coverage, Norton Core has an antenna array inside a geodesic dome of interlocking faces, inspired by defense and weather radars deployed in the extreme reaches of the globe. Norton said the mathematical design encourages users to place it out in the open, as part of their home decor, providing a strong, unobstructed Wi-Fi signal.
