Azercell, Azerbaijan mobile operator has introduced a promotion of the LG Flex 2 smartphone for its 4.5 million subscribers. The operator started a campaign from August 17, 2017 of favorable smartphone in its shops.

Azerbaijan mobile operator Azercell has upgraded its network in areas near Armenia and Karabakh republic, reports Trend. 3G equipment was installed on 70 base stations there, and 25 base stations were equipped with power generators to support services in the event of a power cut.

Azercell Telecom continues to retain its position as the leading Azerbaijani mobile operator of the country for the number of subscribers and quality of service.

Azercell Extends ‘Join Azercell and Get 5 Hours for Calls!’ Campaign

Azerbaijani leading mobile operator Azercell has extended the period of campaign “Join Azercell and get 5 hours for calls!” launched at the eve of Novruz Holiday. Now subscribers can benefit from the campaign till April 30, 2015.

The company launched the campaign on March, 3 for subscribers with new pre-paid numbers and those migrating numbers to Azercell network via mobile number portability service. According to the terms of the campaign, every subscriber activating SimSim number will get 5 hours of free on-net talks every month during the next six months by topping up the balance with 5 AZN. Free talks available for next 7 days can be used only for on-net calls. Subscriber will not be able to enjoy the campaign in case he/she changes current Bizimkilər tariff pack.

Azercell Launches “Free Talking Days” Campaign Again

Azercell Telecom, the leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan with the family of 4.6 million subscribers, has launched a new campaign.

The campaign is for pre-paid (SimSim) subscribers who will benefit from “Free Talking Days” in the period between Feb. 10 and Feb. 23, 2015.

The campaign allows the subscribers refilling their account with five AZN SimSim card or more to get a chance to talk for free any day out of the next seven days with any Azercell subscriber.

Thus, free talking days are selected automatically among next seven days by the system and subscriber is being notified accordingly. A subscriber may join the campaign again in seven days after the last refill. The duration of calls in free talking days will be restricted to 30 minutes. The subscribers can get information on free talking days by sending empty SMS to short number 1010. It should be noted that Azercell launches this campaign every year for its subscribers.

Azercell Implements Projects for Training Professional Personnel in Azerbaijan

During the 18 years of its operation, Azercell Telecom has supported the development of education and professional human recourses in Azerbaijan.

Among the social projects supported by the company, special focus was driven to initiatives aimed at the development of professionals in telecommunications. The company continues its activities in this direction. Thus, Azercell Telecom Human Recourses Division held a meeting with the students of Azerbaijan Languages University. During the event, the students were given detailed information about the Student Bursary Program and Internship Program. Azercell representatives also answered questions on various topics.

Azercell has started Student Internship Program this year as well. The program allows students to apply theoretical knowledge into practice, take part in exciting projects and build future careers at Azercell.

The third and fourth year students are eligible to join the program. The students passing the selection procedure gain opportunities to undergo internship and receive monthly salary, as well as to become Azercell family member.

A student may apply for internship in more than one field. Along with the application form, applicants are required to submit an essay in English in one of two topics suggested.

This year 12 students have won Azercell Awards within Student Bursary Program. Along with monthly scholarship of AZN 200 each till the graduation, these students also got an opportunity to improve knowledge in telecommunications, take part in corporate events of the company, attend various training courses and take internship.

Furthermore, Azercell has launched Regional Student Program this year. The winners were 2 students from Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute and Nakhchivan State University and a student from Lenkaran State University.

During the past few months Azercell Telecom representatives met with students at Lankaran State University, Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute and Nakhchivan State University.

Azercell Telecom has implemented a number of successful projects in the advancement of knowledge and education of the youth since the beginning of its operation in Azerbaijan. Establishment of 3G and 4G laboratories, numerous successful projects under Barama Innovation Center and various Student Programs can be especially underlined among such projects. Terminal Solutions to Supply SIM Sales Kit in Azerbaijan

Russian company Terminal Solutions LLC is negotiating with Azerbaijan mobile operators regarding supplies of SIM card sales terminals, cited by Artyom Subbotin, the executive director of Terminal Solutions. These enable operators to sell SIMs by scanning customers’ passports using cameras installed on the terminals, in order to check their identity. An initial agreement has already been concluded with mobile operators Bakcell, Azercell and Nar Mobile and supplies are due to start in 2015.

Naxtel to Provide Services in Nakhichevan Only

Azerbaijan regional mobile operator Naxtel, working in Nakhichevan republic, doesn’t plan to provide services outside the republic, cited by Rovshan Mamedov, the minister of ICT of Nakhichevan republic. The regional operator plans to expand its network across the republic and to deploy a LTE network there. Naxtel received a licence for the LTE network in September and currently provides services over the CDMA standard using the 800-900 MHz band. Naxtel plans to provide LTE as a MVNO on networks of mobile operators Bakcell, Azercell and Nar Mobile at the initial stage, and its own network will be deployed gradually.

Azercell Launches Free Smartphone Campaign

Azercell Telecom, the leader of country’s mobile telecommunications market is launching a new Free Huawei Asend Y330 Smartphone campaign.

All SimSim subscribers of Azercell, i.e. new, current, and those ported using MNP, are eligible to join this new campaign between July 9 and December 31, 2014.

Per the campaign rules a subscriber visits Azercell’s dealer shops or Express office, pays 99 AZN to SimSim number’s balance and gets year-long calls to all parts of the country, SMS and Internet, as well as, and most importantly, a Free Smartphone from Azercell. A subscriber can join this campaign only once using the number registered under his name and the charges from the balance will be made against the currently used tariff plan.
