Algerian mobile networks receive green light for LTE launch

The Algerian government published the executive decree authorizing the deployment of LTE mobile services in the country on 25 September, reports Agence Ecofin. The announcement follows the successful bids for LTE licenses by Algeria’s three main mobile networks – Mobilis, Djezzy and Ooredoo. The overall cost for each 15-year license includes a fixed sum and a variable charge linked to LTE revenues. The fixed payment amounts to DZD 5 billion, while the variable charge corresponds to 1 percent of annual LTE revenues.
