
T-Mobile Surges past LTE Target with 116 Metropolitan Areas Covered
T-Mobile US has announced that its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network now reaches 157 million people across the United States, far exceeding the company’s previously stated mid-year goal of covering 100 million people. The network is live in 116 metropolitan areas, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta and Miami. Going forward, the company seeks to deliver LTE coverage to 200 million people in more than 200 markets by the end of 2013.
In other news, T-Mobile has confirmed that its HSPA+ network service is now available to 228 million people nationwide.
