Saudi Telecom Company( STC) selected Ericsson of a major expansion of its 4G network in Saudi Arabia. The plan also includes the deployment of LTE advanced and Narrow Band-IoT in Radio access network. STC Selected Ericsson for 4G Network Expansion in Saudi Arabia
The LTE advanced expansion started in December with the deployment of Ericsson’s 5G ready baseband hardware in the network. The 700MHz spectrum band iss used for the expansion of LTE advanced. Moreover, it will increase STC network throughput by upto 50 percent in smartphones.

With the data driven content speed delivered by LTE advanced, subscribers can get benefit of extended coverage, long battery life as well as low cos devices.
The STC is deploying NB-IoT(Narrow Band-Internet of Things) in RAN(Radio access network) across its expanded network. Additionally, it will support enterprise IoT ecosystem and business opportunities.
Furthermore, STC recently upgraded its contract with Ericsson that includes service efficiency and second line support.
