Spirent and Cetecom Collaborate on LTE LBS Conformance Tests

Spirent Communications and Cetecom announced today their collaboration to implement a solution that tests SUPL 2.0 compliance for Verizon Wireless. This test solution is a key enabler for mobile device Location Based Services (LBS) on LTE networks and will be offered by Spirent by the end of this year.

By testing SUPL 2.0 compliance for both LTE-only and LTE multi-mode mobile phones, the solution will ensure devices are capable of supporting next-generation location-enabled applications and providing location information during E911 emergency call sessions on LTE networks.

Cetecom will add these tests to their repertoire of test services for LTE devices.

“The ability for LTE devices to support the next-generation location-based services and increased requirements for E911 is a driving force in LTE deployment,” said Thorsten Stabenau, Director Corporate Marketing & Sales, Cetecom. “We view our collaboration with Spirent to be a critical step in achieving success on upcoming LTE deployments.”
