
Sindh High Court Pakistan Orders to Tackle Cellphone Thefts
The Sindh High Court of Pakistan has ordered the Inspector General of Police to take immediate steps to control the increasing cellphone thefts. Chief Justice asked IG Police to chalk out the strategy with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to block stolen sets. The issue of stolen cell phones and their use in criminal activities was raised during the hearing of a kidnap case.
Law Officer Miran Muhammad Shah told the judges that a meeting has been called on May 25th in the Office of Sindh Advocate General in which representatives of PTA and cellular services companies will also take part to discuss the matter at hand.
Police was directed to submit the report on by 26th June.
