Samsung Working on Phone with Three-Sided Display Screen

Samsung has seemingly found a smartphone niche it hasn’t already filled and is said to be working on a phone with a three-sided display screen.

Citing people familiar with the plans, Bloomberg News reported that the phone will be launched next year and will come with a three-sided display that wraps around the edges so messages can be read from an angle

Samsung plans to have each side of the display operate independently.

The phone is expected to be based on an improved version of its Youm technology which is currently used in the company’s first curved screen phone, the Galaxy Round.

However, the new phone is not expected to be launched until the second half of next year, although it would not be unreasonable to expect a prototype to be shown off next February.

We’ll see curved displays coming into the market, but it’s just a question of whether they will gain any significant traction with customers,”
