Futuremark Joined by Qualcomm, Acer,Intel and SingTel to Bring 3DMark to Android
Qualcomm, Acer, Intel and SingTel-Optus have joined Futuremark’s Benchmark Development Program for the company’s 3D Mark for Android. This 3DMark will be used as gaming benchmark for Android-based tablets and smartphones. Launching later this year, 3DMark for Android will measure gaming performance using graphics rendering, CPU and physics tests with real-time graphics using OpenGL ES2.0 technology.
The Futuremark Benchmark Development Program gathers input and expertise from companies to create industry standard benchmarks for performance measurement.
Futuremark’s Benchmark Development Program is a scheme for building partnerships with hardware and technology manufacturers. Members include AMD, Imagination Technologies, Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and Samsung. Dedicated benchmarking software helps provide industry engineers and press reviewers with the tools to produce consistent results that are repeatable, reliable and relevant.
