Pakistan’s Government to Bring PayPal to the Country

The government of Pakistan is working to bring different online payment platforms including PayPal to the country. The issue was discussed in the meeting that was chaired by Senator Mushtaq Ahmad. Pakistan’s Government to Bring PayPal to the Country

The Ministry of Science and Technology secretary said:

The policy related to PayPal is at the advanced stage and important development is expected in the next two weeks.”

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad asked that why Pakistan had no access to PayPal. He added that without such a payment system the country could not boost its trade. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Science and Technology Secretary Nasim Nawaz asked to discuss this issue instead of making illegal appointments.

The Ministry of Science and Technology Secretary Nasim Nawaz added that:

There are rules and regulations to deal with such cases.

However, his suggestion was terminated by senators because according to him, there were issues related to illegal appointments and promotions hadd been pending for the last 17 years.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad said:

We aree not interested in discussing these issues here but illegal activities in the ministry and complaints by the affected people force us to take up such matters.

Comsats University Rector Dr. Raheel Qamar was also present in the meeting. He criticized the absence of current copyright laws. According to him, the absence of these laws was discouraging innovation in the country.

He said,

These advanced and successful researches do not yield any benefit for the students and even those who will invest in such ventures. It is easier to get copyright of any product registered in the US compare to gettingg it done in Pakistan.
