Orange’s 4G Network Now Covers 390 Towns

France’s leading mobile operator Orange France has announced that the footprint of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network has been extended to cover all arrondissements of the capital Paris and 37 additional towns in the surrounding area, bringing the total number of agglomerations with access to the 4G network to 54 (including 390 towns in mainland France). The company is also planning to accelerate the rollout of its 4G LTE network deployment, by increasing the planned coverage to 40% of the population by year-end, up by ten percentage points from the previously announced 30%. According to a company’s press release, a total of 70 agglomerations will be covered by the end of September, extending the LTE network footprint to a total of 500 towns in mainland France. Orange also reported that 250,000 customers have already subscribed to its LTE services.
