Nokia Appointed Joerg Erlemeier as Chief Operating Officer

Nokia has selected Joerg Erlemeier as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The company has also announced his appointment as the member of the group leadership team with immediate effect. Nokia Appointed Joerg Erlemeier as Chief Operating Officer

Monika Maurer was the COO of Nokia, who is now to leave the company to pursue new opportunities elsewhere. She was elected for the position of COO in March this year after previously serving as COO of Fixed Networks. Furthermore, she will support Erlemeier during a transitional period first. She was responsible for Nokia’s operating model, Global Operations, procurement, implementation of cost savings and ongoing transformation activities, information technology, real estate and quality.

The new COO of Nokia, Erlemeier was most newly senior vice president at Nokia Transformation. Erlemeier will report to Nokia President and Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Suri.

Erlemeier holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics and Telecommunications) from Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany. He has over 20 years of experience in various leadership positions in Nokia.
