Alcatel-Lucent Signs Supply Agreement for Telenor’s 4G Networks

Alcatel Lucent has signed a global frame agreement with Telenor Group, making Alcatel Lucent a candidate provider for LTE networks to the subsidiaries in 13 countries in Europe and Asia. The agreement offers Telenor subsidiaries Alcatel-Lucent’s LTE Overlay solution as an alternative to single RAN deployment. No actual contracts have been signed, this is just an agreement to use Alcatel-Lucent equipment in the future. Alcatel-Lucent said that its LTE overlay network technology offers an option to Telenor’s subsidiaries to have 4G LTE mobile networks up and running faster and more efficiently than following a slower migration process traditionally followed by operators.
