NBTC assigns prefix for 2.1 GHz mobile services

National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has assigned the prefix ‘093’ for new mobile services on the 2.1 GHz spectrum. The decision is part of the plan to auction the spectrum on 16 October and the regulator will initially offer 10 million mobile numbers.

The NBTC also approved the granting of 1.6 million additional mobile numbers to DTAC, 1.25 million numbers to AIS, and 1.75 million mobile numbers to CAT Telecom. The monthly fee is THB 2 per number but CAT is required to pay an overdue fee of THB 45 million for 6 million mobile numbers first, before the regulator will give it the new numbers.
