From past few years the gulf region is on red list of cyber-attacks. This is due to the high usage of internet and mobile penetration throughout the region. Microsoft revealed that with the increasing popularity of IoT, Cyber-attacks are also increasing due to more number of end points available to hackers.

Cyber-attacks leads to losses in productivity and growth. One estimate predicts the global cyber-security market to be worth more than $120 billion in 2017. It is a 35-fold increase over the past 13 years. It is expected to reach more than $1 trillion cumulatively over the next five years.

According to research by Symantec and Deloitte, several companies in Middle East are not well. More than 70 % of regional IT decision-makers admit having less than full confidence in their company’s cyber security policies.
Microsoft experts attended the Dubai Event. They discussed the firm’s security portfolio and rising threats and counter threat solutions in the regions. The representatives from National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Emirates airline also took part in in a panel discussion. The goal was to discuss about the challenges, Gulf businesses face as they try to address the shifts in the threat landscape.
