Loxley eyes TOT’s 3G network expansion project
Thai conglomerate Loxley is interested in bidding for TOT’s planned 3G expansion. The state-owned telecommunications operator TOT is planning to expand its 2.1 GHz 3G network across the country. Loxley is targeting 13 percent revenue growth this year, with growth expected to be boosted by ICT projects. ICT projects account for 65 percent of Loxley’s income. The Loxley-Samart consortium won a THB 15.99 billion deal from TOT in April last year to roll out 5,320 base stations for the 3G network in the first phase. TOT is now considering expanding the network to between 18,000 and 20,000 bases over the next two years.
