Kyrgyzstan mobile revenues in spotlight as tax rise mulled

Adylbek Kasymaliyev, the vice-minister at the Ministry of Economy, gave revenue figures for certain mobile telephony operators in Kyrgyzstan, in response to questions from Members of Parliament. The annual revenues of Beeline Kyrgyzstan exceed KZS 6 billion, and the figure for Megacom is over KZS 7 billion. Katel’s revenue is KZS 29 million. The Committee on Economic and Fiscal Policy is considering raising the income tax on mobile operators to 5 percent.
