Huawei Shows Off LTE Technology at Kenyan Roadshow
Huawei says that it is preparing to deploy an LTE network in Kenya for a so far unnamed mobile network operator. Huawei showed off the technology at a road show, where it offered clients an opportunity to test the LTE based service ahead of the network rollout.
“We believe we are playing an important role in bridging the digital divide in Kenya, creating opportunities through education, and contributing to the growth of Kenya’s ICT market through various social responsibility programmes that we have put in place.”
Explained Dean Yu, Huawei Kenya country director.
The commercial launch is expected towards the end of this year.
Although the company did not name the customer, it is a known supplier to Safaricom, who have also been itching to deploy a 4G network.
