Google Officially Closed Social Media Platform Google Plus

Google had earlier publicized the expiration of its social media network Google+ and now it has officially shut down. Google Officially Closed Social Media Platform Google Plus

According to Google, it would phase out the social media gradually. Google Plus wasn’t able to make its space in the digital landscape. The tech giant Google aware its users to not create new accounts on the platform from the month of February. Today is the day, Google starts deleting the already hosted accounts. Google+ for G-Suite users would, however, still be available.

The company stated that:

On April 2nd, your Google+ account and any Google+ pages you created will be shut down and we will begin deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts.

Google+ had been introduced by the tech giant back in 2011. It was to assist as a struggle to broadly commercialized social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. But still it remain unremarkable to get power. Google plus also introduces many new products such as Google Photos and Google Hangouts.

The decision was also mainly taken because of some security errors which were found on the platform. A bug had disclosed data of about half a million users on the platform, while another had disclosed the data of more than 50 million users.
