
Free adds 805,000 mobile subscribers in Q3
Free added 805,000 mobile subscribers in the third quarter, taking the total to over 4.4 million.
The company estimates that it won an over 60 percent share of mobile subscribers in the period. Free’s revenues from mobile phone services reached EUR 215.4 million in the quarter, with handset sales at EUR 22.90 million.
There is no year-earlier comparison as Free Mobile did not launch until January. The company’s broadband customer base grew to 5.26 million from 5.15 million in three months, with Free subscribers at 5.03 million and Alice at 230,000 at the end of September.
Revenues from broadband rose by 8.7 percent to EUR 581.6 million in the third quarter. Consolidated revenues increased by 53 percent to EUR 819 million. Group ARPU rose by over EUR 0.20 a month on the second quarter to EUR 35.80 thanks to new usage and revenues from audiovisual services on the success of its Freebox Revolution offer, despite lower landline call termination charges.
