Facebook to Hire 3000 Employees to Stop Live Violence Streaming

The largest social media giant Facebook revealed that they plan to add 3000 workers to their team within next year. Facebook wants to tackle people posting inappropriate materials on Facebook via its feature ‘Live’. Facebook Live feature was launched last year. Since than it is misused by many people. CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that such inappropriate postings are prohibited. They should not be posted on social media network. In a Facebook post Mark revealed that 4500 people are working already working in firm to review posts that do violate in terms of services.

This announcement came by Facebook when a father in Thailand broadcast himself killing his daughters on Facebook Live. Facebook took 1 day to remove this video after it had 370,000 views. Videos from places such as Chicago and Cleveland have also shocked viewers with their violence.

Mark Zuckerberg Said:

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen people hurting themselves and others on Facebook — either live or in video posted later. It’s heartbreaking, and I’ve been reflecting on how we can do better for our community. If we’re going to build a safe community, we need to respond quickly. We’re working to make these videos easier to report so we can take the right action sooner — whether that’s responding quickly when someone needs help or taking a post down

This hiring story is clear indication that this social issue is acknowledged by Facebook positively. However Facebook should automate its software to improve monitoring of live postings.
