A CDMA/EVDO workshop training was conducted in January, 2009 for PTCL (Etisalat). It was a one day training session in which a detailed introduction to CDMA/EVDO technology was given to the participants. The main objective of the training program was to improve the technical skill level of the participants as the operator was planning a major network upgrade and expansion of its broadband service via the EVDO technology.

A Workshop on UMTS and WCDMA was successfully conducted by the Central Asian Cellular Forum in January, 2009 at the Telenor office, Islamabad. The training session was well attended by engineers from Telenor. The two-day workshop provided the participants with an open opportunity to receive valuable knowledge about the latest developments in UMTS terminals of Open Market Handsets and technological advancements taking place in this domain.

ITCN Asia is the biggest IT & Telecom extravaganza of Pakistan.  The known ICT brands of the world showcase their state-of-the-art products and services in this three day event. CACF team not only participated in the ITCN Asia 2009 even as an exhibitor but the CEO of the company, Mr. Khalid Khan also participated in the event as a Guest Speaker on mobile broadband.

CACF conducted the first of its kind CDMA roaming workshop in 2009 which was actively supported by Qualcomm and CDG. The rich content of the workshop attracted representatives from different mobile operators from CIS as well as other foreign countries. Over fifteen operators from seven countries including local participants: Fonex, NEXI, Sapatcom, Megacom, Bitel, and KATEL. Amongst the foreign participants Perfectum Mobile, Uz Mobile from Uzbekistan, AlTel (Kazakhstan), Skylink (Russia), G-mobile (Mongolia), China Telecom (China), ZTE Corporation (China) and Accuris Networks as well as others were present at the occasion.

A workshop on CDMA Network optimization was conducted by CACF Central Asian Cellular Forum in March 2009 at 3G HR Development Center,Iqra University, Islamabad. Workshop was attended by Iqra University students. The main purpose of the workshop was to deliver information on CDMA Network optimization.

15th April 2009 – The Central Asian Cellular Forum (CACF) once again conducted the first of its kind CDMA roaming workshop from 14th to 15th April, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The event was yet another effort that was actively supported by QUALCOMM and CDMA Development Group.

Around 20 professionals from Perfectum Mobile attended the training. The workshop was conducted by CACF’s Qualcomm certified trainer and a Senior Member of IEEE, USA. The workshop proved to be very productive as a large number of professional Engineers actively participated in the training. After successful completion, certificates were also distributed amongst the participants.

CDMA/EVDO workshop was conducted by Central Asian Cellular Forum in May 2009 at MCS, Rawalpindi. The purpose of the workshop was to deliver lectures on CDMA/EVDO and to clearing the concept of CDMA/EVDO for the students.

A workshop was conducted by Central Asian Cellular Forum in May 2009 at Comsats Institute, Abottabad on the topic of UMTS/WCDMA for the purpose of delivering information on the new technologies. Comsats faculty and students attended the session.

Islamabad May 21st – A successful two day training event on UMTS/WCDMA was concluded by the Central Asian Cellular Forum on May 21st. The training classes were held at the CDMA/WCDMA HR Development Center, IQRA University, Islamabad Campus.

19th June 2009- A successful two day training event on CDMA1x and EVDO Rel. 0 was organized by Central Asian Cellular Forum from 18th to 19th June 2009. The event was actively supported by Qualcomm Inc. and CDG (CDMA development group).

20th June 2009- A total of 19 professionals from renowned organizations like, MTC, Ucell and ITM attended the training. At the end of the event certificates for “UMTS/WCDMA Technical Overview” awarded to the participants. The event was actively support by Qualcomm Inc. USA.

Central Asian Cellular Forum participated in three days IT & Telecom exhibition ITCN Asia as a speaker and exhibitor that was held in the month of August 2009 at Expo Center Karachi.

A seminar was conducted by CACF in October, 2009 for Telecom Professionals and Students of IQRA University, Islamabad. The purpose of this seminar was to provide the students and industry professionals an introduction to latest mobile technology specifically focused on UMTS and WCDMA technology.
