WCDMA (UMTS) NETWORK PLANNING

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/11.jpg[/img]29th December 2008- A successful two day training event on WCDMA (UMTS) was organized by Qualcomm and Central Asian Cellular Forum from 27th to 28th December 2008. The training was held at Regent Plaza Hotel, Karachi, Pakistan.
The training was a part of the training programs being organized across the country by the Central Asian Cellular Forum and Qualcomm ahead of the expected 3G network upgrade. A total of 16 professionals from various organizations actively participated in the training. The participating organizations include Mobilink, Telenor, Zambeel, Telecard, Interactive communications, Cybernet and students from Hamdard University.

EVDO TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR PERFECTUM MOBILE

Tashkent, Uzbekistan

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/perfectummobile1.jpg[/img]21st October 2008- A two day training session on EVDO covering EVDO Release 0 Overview and Network Planning was successfully conducted by the Central Asian Cellular Forum from 20th to 21st October, 2008 at the Perfectum Mobile Office, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event was actively supported by QUALCOMM Incorporated and the CDMA Development Group (CDG).

The training session was well attended by engineering professionals from Perfectummobile. Perfectummobile is the leading 3G CDMA mobile operator in Uzbekistan which started it’s operations in 2001. The main objective of the training program was to improve the technical skill level of the operator’s engineering professionals, who are planning a major upgrade to broadband service via EVDO Rev-A.

WORKSHOP ON 3G (UMTS/WCDMA)

Islamabad, Pakistan

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/111.jpg[/img]206 December 2008- Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in association with Qualcomm Inc. USA and Central Asian Cellular Forum, successfully conducted a two day training session on 3G (UMTS/WCDMA) Network Planning. The event was held at PTA HQs, Islamabad from 4-5 December 2008.
The workshop was arranged in the wake of upcoming 3G licensing. PTA has assured the telecom industry for its full support and co-operation for the introduction of new technology and to provide level playing field to all the stakeholders. The government feels that the Pakistan telecom industry has matured to a point where migration to 3G is inevitable and the regulatory authority will take every step to facilitate the migration process and safeguard the business interest of the stake holders. On the occasion of closing ceremony, Chairman PTA Dr Mohammed Yaseen distributed the certificates to the participants of the workshop.

UMTS/WCDMA REGULATORY SEMINAR

Issyk-Kul, Kyrgystan

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/isskakulsmall1.jpg[/img]A seminar on “3G UMTS/WCDMA” was successfully conducted by QUALCOMM & Central Asian CDMA Forum (CACF) on June 17th & 18th, 2008 at the Raduga Resort Hotel, Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan. The event was actively supported by National Agency of Communication, Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Communication, Kyrgyzstan. The seminar focused on a select group of regulators, policy makers, operators, vendors and UMTS licensees was well attended by high level executives from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Belarus and Russia.

3G TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS

Bishkek, Kyrgystan

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/kry2small.jpg[/img] 2 July 2008- A professional training session on 3G technology UMTS/WCDMA was conducted by the Central Asian Cellular Forum (CACF) from 27th June to 02nd July, 2008 at the Ak Keme Hotel, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The event was actively supported by QUALCOMM Incorporated and sponsored by FONEX.

The training sessions were attended by engineering professionals associated with the Telecom Industry, specifically WCDMA. Attendees to various sessions included regional policy makers, regulators, existing and potential mobile operators from Kyrgyzstan. According to CACF, ‘the main objective of the training program was to improve the technical skill level of the engineering professionals specially related with the development of WCDMA technology in the country.’

3G TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS

Dushanbe, Tajikistan

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/dushame1small.jpg[/img]25 June-2008 Central Asian Cellular Forum (CACF) conducted a professional training session on 3G technology UMTS/WCDMA between 21st to 25th June at the Asia Grand Hotel, Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The event was actively supported by QUALCOMM Incorporated and was attended by local UMTS operators.

According to Dr. Ismail Shah, Trainer, executive director of CACF and head of CDMA HR Development Centre, ‘The main objective of the training program was to improve the technical skill level of the engineering professionals of the 3G operators in the country.’ The sessions were attended by technical professionals from Babilon-M, MLT and Indigo, leading UMTS/WCDMA operators in Tajikistan.

CDMA TRAINING (INPT)

Rabat, Morocco

[img w=”150″ h=”160″ align=”right”]http://3gca.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/morroco1s.jpg[/img]Central Asian CDMA Forum carried out another successful training event at Formation CDMA, Institute National Des Postes et Télécommunications (INPT) Rabat, Morocco. The eight day training session was held between 18th to 26th April 2008.

The strength of the class was 20 which included Engineers from WANA (Morocco’s premier CDMA Operator), ANRT (Regulator) and trainers/ professors form INPT.
