
Ethiopia’s Capital City to Get LTE Coverage
Ethiopias monopoly mobile network, ethio telecom has confirmed that it is close to signing a network expansion contract which would also see the deployment of LTE services in the capital city.
The company outlined its plans in a conference for corporate customers held last week.
CEO, Mr. Bruno Duthoit also outlined plans to improve the network quality of service, which he admitted had been a cause of considerable complaints in recent years as subscriber growth surged faster than the network could be upgraded.
The company need quick solutions for many problems, some areas the company is facing congestion, lack of coverage, lack of bandwidth availability.
This plan includes an Internet Broadband strategy which is expected to include introduction of LTE in the capital and HSPA+ in the big cities by 2015.
