Digitel Poised To Initiate LTE Pilot in Caracas

Digite lis the smallest of Venezuela’s three mobile network operators, with only 19.7% share of subscribers at the end of 2012. It has recently revealed its plans to commence a pilot project of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in Caracas. According to a news report, the initial coverage ‘circuit’ will include the towns of Altamira, Los Palos Grandes and La Castellana. Going forward, coverage will be extended in the coming months to areas such as La Urbina and El Rosal-Las Mercedes.
