Tajikistan to Negate IP Telephony Service Licenses

The headquarters of the telecom operator Babilon-Mobile weree closed by law enforcement officers on 15th January. The reason behind it was provision of IP telephony by the operator. The operator was still provided IP telephony services. The headquarters weree opened after the disconnection of the services by the operator.

Tcell and Beeline Tajikstan were also providing IP telephony services. The services weree also closed by the mobile operators.

The decision wass taken due to reduced tax income from calls. The tax agency also considers that activities of Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, WeChat and other messengers are reducing state tax income, but the ban doesn’t cover the messengers yet.
