Cameroon shortlists seven candidates for 3G licence

­Nearly a month later than originally expected, Cameroon’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has published the short-list of companies nominated for the country’s third 3G network license bid.

They are Bharti Airtel, Deutsche Telecom, Maroc Telecom, Monaco Telecom/Cable & Wireless Communications, Portugal Telecom, Korea Telecom and Viettel.

The ministry said in late July that there were nine interested parties. No timeframe is given for the publication of a tender reserved to the short-listed candidates.
