T-Mobile and RIM have announced the Blackberry Curve 9315 over the previous week, which will run RIM’s Blackberry 7 operating system, providing improved speed and performance.
Blackberry 7 also offers a Mobile Hotspot allowing you to use your cellular network’s data connection to connect up to 3 Wi-Fi enabled devices to the Internet. The handset features Wi-Fi calling, a great feature to have when you do not have a good cellular connection, allowing you to place calls over the Internet on your own or an open Wi-Fi network. Just in case you can’t stay away from social networks the handset comes with Facebook and Twitter applications. The handset also has support for NFC (Near Field Communication) allowing you to send contacts to other NFC enabled devices, as well as receive information from NFC enabled devices. The handset supports 3G networks although there is no word on if it will support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network.
Aside from applications the Blackberry 9315 comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, and a microSD card slot which holds up to 32GB of storage, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC support and a QWERTY keyboard.
The Blackberry 9315 will be offered exclusively to T-Mobile USA, and will be available for preorder on January 16th for business consumers and everyone else on January 23rd. The phone will cost you a $49.99 down payment and a $10 dollar monthly payment over 20 months as well as a two-year plan.
