Azercell Telekom increases subscriber base by 5% year-on-year

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azercell Telekom increased the subscriber base by 4.8% year-on-year.

Number of subscribers rose 200,000 to 4.4 mln in 2012, while it was 4.2 mln in 2011.

President of Company Kirill Gaburich noted that number of base stations doubled. So, near 1,000 stations were constructed in 2012.

Besides, the copmany transferred ANZ 90 mln to state budge in 2012, AZN 925 mln in 16 years. The Company invested AZN 100 mln in development of telecommunication in 2012, AZN 1 mln – during 16 years.

At the same time, Azercell invested AZN 1.6 mln in social projects.
