Apple iPhone Sales in China Fell by 20 Percent in Fourth Quarter

According to IDC research firm report, Apple sales in China drop 20 percent year-on-year in fourth quarter of 2018. Apple iPhone Sales in China Fell by 20 Percent in Fourth Quarter

When Apple sales fell 20 percent, its rival Huawei sales rise 23 percent in the same period.

Apple no longer shows detailed numbers on iPhone shipments in its quarterly report that means different surveys and IDC report are frequently shows the clearest indicators.

In the same report, there is a decrease of 19.9 percent in iPhone shipments in the final quarter of 2018. The growth in Huawei smartphones shipments by 23.3 percent that reduces Apple’s market share to 11.5 percent from 12.9 percent a year earlier.

The report said:

“Besides regular performance upgrades in 2018 and small changes to the exterior, there has not been any major innovation that supports users to continue to change their phones at the greatly increased price,”

The report further explained that:

“The severe macro environment in China and the assault of domestic brands’ innovative products have also been reasons for Apple’s continued decline.”

Another report shows a sharp fall in Apple’s smartphones sales in India that is a big developing market for Apple. According to the report, Apple sales fell 25 percent in the fourth quarter that reduces total sales in 2018 to 1.7 million units from 3.2 million a year earlier.
