Announcing Free 5G Training for University Students

The Central Asian Cellular Forum (CACF) is teaming up with the Qualcomm Wireless Academy (QWA) to offer free 5G training to university students across Asia. As the 5G revolution continues to expand around the world, CACF and QWA are excited to engage students with this free professional development opportunity in a growing and dynamic industry.

In this article, we discuss how students can take advantage of this opportunity, why 5G training is important, and how you can get involved with both CACF and QWA.

How Students Can Receive this 5G Training?

Through the program offered by CACF and QWA, students can choose to enroll in either a beginner, intermediate, or advanced 5G training course though QWA, depending on their skill level. Specifically, students can choose between the following three options:

  1. 5G Primer: A two-hour overview of 5G for business and/or engineering students without 5G experience.
  2. Fundamentals of Cellular Communication and 5G: A six-hour overview of 5G and wireless communication for business and/or engineering students looking for something more in-depth, but not too advanced.

Upon completing their course, students will receive a Qualcomm Technologies-branded certificate of completion they can display on their CV or LinkedIn profile. Students may also take more advanced 5G training courses through QWA at a discount.

If you are a full-time student and would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please email Hussain Jawwad, Senior Manager of Business Development for CACF, at jawwad@3gca.org. We are also happy to speak with university representatives to bring this program to your school.

Why Receive 5G Training?

5G is revolutionizing the way we live our lives, both personally and professionally, which means the market for wireless engineers with 5G skills is quickly growing. Receiving 5G training will give students a leg up when they graduate and enter a workforce that needs talented engineers.

“As 5G changes the way the business world operates, the need for 5G and wireless engineers continues to grow,” Vikram Malhotra, Senior Director of Program Management for Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and head of QWA, said. “Our goal is to help prepare students around the world with the knowledge and skills they need to begin their career in a rewarding field.”

“5G is leading to a fourth industrial revolution in Central Asia that will help improve the socio-economic conditions of many countries,” Khalid Khan, Chairman of CACF, said. “By receiving 5G training through our joint effort with QWA, students can jump-start their careers in a field that is changing the world.”
