Amazon to Launch Larger Local Online Store in Singapore

The US Company, Amazon has started another marketing place in Singapore by the launch of a bigger online store. It has expanded its product selection in this store. Amazon to Launch Larger Local Online Store in Singapore

The company started an online store in Southeast Asian city-state more than two years ago. This store had a fast delivery service through a mobile app. Amazon was not focused on groceries and other household items but now it is ready to compete with its rivals by providing all this in its new store.

Henry Low, Amazon Singapore country manager, said:

With Amazon.sg, we want to provide what customers have been asking us for: the ability for everyone to shop on a desktop and mobile, more local and international selection from Amazon and trusted sellers, paired with fast and reliable delivery.

According to the company, it will allow all small and medium businesses to sell their products online with Amazon.sg. Other e-commerce firms including Lazada mainly operate via a marketplace model in Singapore.

Although, Singapore is a small market it has high-values with a population of just 5.7 million, is often seen as a Launchpad for consumer-focused companies into much bigger Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, home to over 260 million people.
