Altel to Expand LTE Network

Kazakhstan operator Altel continues the expansion of its LTE network. The operator plans to cover new suburbs of Astana and Almaty with its Altel 4G service by the end of Q3. The services will be launched in Talgar, Kaskelen, Kalshagay, Yesik, Borovoye and Shchuchinsk. The operator plans to stop the connection of new subscribers to its Jet 3G services in Almaty and Astana from 2 August. Jet 3G subscribers will be offered to switch to LTE services from the operator under promotional conditions, and free LTE end-user devices will be offered.
