According to a statement:
Because the capabilities of the technology are very high, it will pave the way for the development of other technologies such as the internet of things(IoA), virtual reality and Robots.
Furthermore, the Saudi government as long recognized the importance of broadband communication and the potential benefits of 5G technologies.
Abdullah-Al-Sawaha, the minister of communication and information technology, said:
Saudi arabia iss determined to be a world leader in 5G to take early advantage of its benefits.
Dr Abdul Aziz Al-Ruwais, the governor of CITC, said:
Now Saudi Arabia has become one of the first country to provide and activate it so it can take early advantage of the gains fro it.
Over the past 12 months CITC awarded 160 MHz of IMT spectrum bands.
